What we have achieved |

To join the Institute you need be an Accredited Counter Fraud Specialist, of which there are now over 8000 in Britain . Our members are from across the country and work in a broad range of areas, including Department of Work and Pensions, Home Office, Local Authorities, Ministry of Defence, NHS and in the large private sector accountancy firms. Members work in a variety of roles across counter fraud and corruption work including 'operational', managerial and policy.
In the short time it has been going we have the Institute has already had a big influence:
- In their annual report HM Treasury described us as "…a new profession, which has support not only across central and local government but beyond into the private sector".
- We contributed to the National Audit Office 'Good Practice in Tackling External Fraud Guide' and continue to work with them on strategic initiatives with influence across government.
- We contributed to the Home Office's Fraud Law Reform proposals and have received credit for our work on this.
- We are represented on the CIPFA Better Governance Forum UK Advisory Panel and its Counter Fraud Sub-group and make ongoing contributions to these influential and respected groups. Link to Expanded Achievements
